Dear members,

With effect from term 2 week 1, we would be implementing the the use of leave forms, like all other CCAs, in which all of you will have to submit should you be absent from trainings. Please submit the leave form before missing that session and kindly submit the relevant documents along with it. Please note that your leave will not necessarily be approved, and the implementation of this measure is to monitor your attendance better. We sincerely hope to see improvements in your attitudes towards attending CCA, and for that, please note that should you be absent from trainings due to sickness, you would need to provide us with a Medical Certificate, latest by the next training you attend, else it would be taken as invalid absence. If you were to be late for CCA due to extra lessons or tests, please also fill the leave form up and get the teacher-in-charge to sign. The leave form can be found here:

To sum things up, as long as you are absent from a CCA sesion, you would have to fill this leave form up and pass it to the secrertary(Eric), vice chairpersons(myself and Kaiyuan) or the chairperson before your absence. We do not wish to chase after you for your excuse letters, and the reasons to why you are absent from sessions and as such. If you do not submit the leave form before your absence, whatever letters or reasons you present us with later would be invalid and ignored. Kindly treat this issue seriously.

Should you have any queries, please feel free to voice up.

Dear members,

There'll be no Infocomm sessions during your holidays. The holidays are rather short and we do not wish to make it any shorter for you. Please have a good rest and recuperate over the holidays. :)

Please also do check your DHS mail for the attendance list has been updated following your complaints. If there are any problems, please do not hesitate to approach the executive committee.

I understand that the members are concerned over the progress of the badge/tee/jacket. The committee will try to get that finalised over this holidays; please be prepared to offer constructive comments for the badge/tee/jacket when we next meet.

CIP committee members please check your DHS mail for updates regarding the CIP project for ICC. I've sent over a format for you to follow in order to aid you in writing the proposal. There may be a need for a meeting on the morning of Monday, 23 March to further discuss the proposal, I'll keep you updated via sms/email.

Mrs Serene Chu has sent an email regarding an Animation Competition organised by Radin Mas Primary School.

No. of members in each group: unrestricted.
Theme of animation: The Art of Saving
How can we creatively save?
Saving money, electricity, water, resources or Mother Earth
The animation must be no longer than 2 minutes.
Judging criteria:
Creativity and imagination: 30%
Originality: 20%
Aesthetic appeal: 20%
Technical achievement: 15%
Significance of theme: 15%
Judging panel: Lecturers from Singapore Polytechnic, Industry Experts, NIE and NEA
Submission deadline: 1700 hours, 2nd March 2009
Submit the file in soft copy in a DVD/ mini DV.
PAL resolution 720 by 576 and 25 fps
Label clearly with school, team leader's name and contact number.

Combined Training session for Term 1 Week 3

Hi people,

The training session for this week is on this Wednesday, 3.30pm to 6.15pm.

This is compulsory for all members so if you're absent, you'll be given zero for attendance.

You'll be given at most 10 minutes grace, NOT 15 minutes for this session or you will be counted as late.

Please also note that we may not have breaks for the session so please make sure you fill your up your water bottles, your stomachs, and empty your bladders before coming for training as we want to minimise time wastage.

First Session in 2009

Dear members,

There are some changes in the timings.

The first session for the year 2009 is changed to Wednesday, 7th Jan 2009, after your orientations.

It'll be COMPULSORY FOR ALL MEMBERS, including current Year 1 STARS members.

Time of commencement will be 3.15pm unless they orientation ends later but most probably they will end around 1.45pm. Please meet at the canteen (near the drinks stalls) at 3.00pm as the computer labs may not be ready.

Training will end around 6pm.

No more sessions for 2008

Dear members,

there will be NO more CCA for the year 2008.

The tentative date for the first CCA training next year will be on ~~2nd Jan 2009~~, after homecoming celebrations. It will be COMPULSORY for ALL Year 2-4 members next year.

The exact time is not confirmed as celebrations are known to end off the scheduled times but please take it as 1 hour after you're dismissed from celebrations.

Dear ICC members,

Please download the following document of the finalised code of conduct. Read carefully as you're to follow it closely next year. However, if you feel that you're strongly against any of the rules, you may email us or bring up to us during CCA.

For next year, all STARS CCAs will have their training sessions on Wednesdays. It will start after 3.15pm and by rights, no CHAMPS CCA are supposed to have training on these days.

For ICC, it is confirmed that we will have a session on Wednesday which will start at 3.15pm or 3.30pm and will end at 6.15pm or 6.30pm. So please make yourself available on Wednesdays next year, reasons like tuition, projects, etc will not be accepted.

From next year, we will have two trainers, Mr Paul and a second trainer, as the Year 1s and 2s will have training with the Year 3s and 4s concurrently.

Currently, we have not confirmed the training time of the 2nd session but the days we are considering are Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays. This 2nd session will be COMPULSORY for all core members, but will be optional for STARS members. You'll be informed of more details in one or two weeks time so do check this blog regularly.

Year 1 Orientation 2009 helpers needed!

Dear all,

In case you didn't read your DHS Mail,

the SCs are asking for some ICC and Robotics Club members to help to take videos and photos during next year's yr 1 orientation.

It'll span over 5 days on the week of orientation (5/1 - 9/1) but you'll only have to help out on the 5th, 6th and 8th of January so Year 2s and 3s of 2009, you'll still be able to go for your respective orientations on the 7th.

You're required to take candid shots and videos of the Yr 1 orientation during the 3 days and on the 8th you'll have to compile everything into a finale video that will be shown to the new Yr 1s on the last day of their orientation.

This will be your only chance to help out in the Yr 1 orientation next year as the HOAs have decided that there'll be NO student facilitators next year so it'll be solely SC-managed event.

If you're interested, pls inform me by 7 Dec 2008.

Note that ~~this is opened to Year 1s and 2s of 2008 only and~~ (see below) you'll have to skip lesson on 7 Jan in order to help out.

Dear Infocomm Club members,

Please be reminded that there will be an Infocomm training session this Friday (31/10/2008). The time of this session will be confirmed again. Please do check your DHS mail regularly for more information. Thank you very much.

Also, I would like to take this opportunity to ask for your cooperation to attend the following training sessions from now onwards. We have noted that attendance for our club has been relatively bad and i hope that all of you will change your attitude regarding this CCA. We have come up with a new system for Infocomm Club and we will be explaining it to you during the next training session. Following then, we will take action if you are absent from CCA without any valid reason.
